NON-PROFIT & EDUCATION CREATIVE

We have had the great pleasure of collaborating on feel-good creative direction, motion design, and editorial with educators, scientists and nonprofit organizations to create engaging documentaries, explainers and marketing materials for their respective audiences.

Marketing & Advertising

With over 15 years of experience in marketing and advertising, we often collaborate as an additional creative arm for agency teams. Our expertise in creative direction, VFX, motion design & editorial allows us to remain flexible and tailor our contributions to what the team and project needs the most.A lot of this work is white label, so this is one of those occasions where you'll have to trust us that it's out there in the world looking mighty fine! In the meantime, we're happy to share our founder's reel with highlights from past agency work. Also visit our bio page to read more about us and our past contributions in this space.

Tiki Tatsu-ya: SHISA FOUNTAIN

The video program was inspired by Tiki Tatsu-ya’s story which told of a legendary Tiki bar found abandoned on a remote island. The countless artifacts that adorn the walls of the cave downstairs and the nest upstairs also provided ample references and motivation for the visuals we designed for Shisa. Our ambient program plays on a continuous 30 minute loop that slowly transitions through various moods. We asked ourselves - what might this ancient stone statue experience in this magical space? Cracks slowly crumble, light and particles shine through from above, moss and ivy slowly grows, patterns paint on the stone surface and slowly disappear. Perhaps Shisa even opens her eyes and gazes at visitors. When group drinks are ordered, the entire space transforms based on the theme of the particular order, and Shisa activates in tandem with the rest of the theatrics. Rum Barrel brings tribal patterns and fire; Skeleton Cruise rains down a nasty storm; SOS curiously lights up with messages from beyond the stars.

Lunar Gold: Vestiges (Official Video)

“Vestiges” is an island you visit where, if you search enough, you can find all the feelings you can’t quite put into words.

We're firm believers that together video and sound have the potential to create a special kind of magic, with each medium bolstering and playing off the other to form a new kind of dance. We're also grateful to have incredibly talented musicians and sound designers among our friends and colleagues, and we absolutely love supporting other creatives. Most recently, we created the official music video for one of our favorite bands, Lunar Gold, a group based in Austin, TX. The piece utilizes a hybrid of conventional and AI tools and strives to do so in a thoughtful and emotionally charged way. Using Luma Ai’s Dream Machine as an animation base alongside additional design and VFX in collaboration with Ryan Haines, we created the visual story of otherworldly yet seemingly familiar creatures from another universe.

Live Visuals

We've had quite a good time collaborating with DJs and musicians over the years! Most recently, we designed and performed a live VJ program for Art Island ATX’s Halloween art event, Shadow Hollow, utilizing Resolume and an ultra-wide multi-projector screen. The theme asked for a haunted forest, and we gave it one, creating an ever-changing forest that morphed in between multiple different styles: spooky forest full of hidden creatures, blood red forest full of spiders, underwater enchanted forest, forest full of bones, silly halloween cartoons - just to name a few.

DOGS INC

We’re incredibly honored to help support this powerful nonprofit organization with its critically important mission of raising, training and connecting service dogs with a number of different families and individuals across the country dealing with difficult circumstances like blindness, mobility issues or PTSD. Their highly intelligent dogs become guide dogs, service dogs, and skilled companion dogs - all at no cost to the recipients. Our work with Dogs Inc. includes supporting their internal marketing team through motion graphic design, animation and editorial for PSAs, marketing initiatives for donation campaigns and events, documentaries detailing the success of selected graduates and their canine partners, and paws-itively adorable puppy videos encouraging donors and volunteers to support the puppy raising program. We also call on our VFX and compositing experience as needed to enhance green screen shoots, add motion tracked elements in scene or add a little bit of whimsy when the piece calls for it.

FLORIDA FISH & WILDLIFE COMMISSION, Red tide video series

Scientists and researchers that comprise the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) provide an incredible resource for Florida residents and tourists alike providing a wealth of information concerning hunting, boating, and safety resources. However, the team’s valuable time and resources were being taken up by answering the same set of questions regarding Red Tide, an algae that blooms primarily off of the coast of Florida. The FWC website included an FAQ; however, the team wanted to go further to answer the public’s need for quick and efficient answers about this important topic by developing a video series specifically talking about red tide and its effects on humans, pets and wildlife. But while the FWC team hands down are the experts when it comes to Red Tide, they had not engaged in video production and looked to us to visually translate their critically important scientific knowledge into a cohesive explainer video series. We walked the FWC team through the production process and together created a 5-part series (2 parts still in production) with each video about 5 minutes and a consistent and cohesive visual style across the series. We also facilitated Spanish translation of both VO and on-screen graphics to broaden the reach of the series to Spanish speaking audiences. We worked with the FWC team to determine what information would be best used in a bite-sized format for socials, and cut down the full video into short snippets for even quicker public understanding.
